Report Summary
This report presents information on young people under youth justice supervision during 2018–19 who had received child protection services in the 5 years from 1 July 2014 and 30 June 2019. More than half of young people who had been in youth justice supervision had also received child protection services in the 5-year period. About one-third were the subject of a substantiated notification for abuse or neglect. Almost 1 in 4 (23%) young people were placed on a care and protection order and 22% were placed in out-of-home care in the last 5 years.
